Motorbike Adventure in Langkawi

After the last fiasco of renting bicycles in Langkawi, Boyfriend and I decided to rent motorbikes to go stock up on groceries, and to have a little fun.

Checking around the Cenang Beach area, all the motorbikes are about the same price (30 MYR, or about $10, for the day).  We stopped at one shop that require that I have an international license, so we just went down the road a bit, and rented another that only required a passport.

Off we went...

Nice little view off the coast, about halfway between Cenang and Kuah

We went down to Kuah Town first, to hit up the art store, as both of us were craving some new art supplies.  It was a bit slow going on the twists and turns, and up and down the hills between Cenang and Kuah.  Thankfully, Boyfriend is patient.  Very patient.

I eventually got a bit better (I'd never really driven one of these on any sort of incline and with actual other vehicles on the road, and this was much larger than the one I had previously driven in India.)  And we spent the day enjoying the backstreets, the scenery, and the ride.

Here is a little video of our adventure:

It was a great time, minus that one little part where we ran out of gas in the middle of the island.  Thankfully, the man we rented it from brought us some petrol, and we were able to continue our journey.

Me, pouting because we are out of gas.

Boyfriend pushing the bike more
out of the way... look at that crazy sign though.
What does it even mean?

And yes, we did stock up on groceries... eventually.

What I've been doing since I left Korea...

Things have been pretty quiet around here lately, I'm working on catching up on all that, but for the moment, here is what I have been up to since I left Korea in November.

Also, if you are interested, or so inclined, please have a look at my Where I've been page to see my complete list of travels.  And don't forget to stay tuned for more updates to come.
