*Korean*Korean* Twig Sculpture *Korean*Korean*

Said farewell to the principal... It sort of went like this:
*Korean*Korean*Korean* (hands me twig sculpture) Thank You *Korean*Korean*Korean*

the twig sculpture in all its glory

CT translated: Thank you for your hard work, enjoy your home country.

So, thanks? Korea...

Update:  Oooooh, its not just any twig sculpture... it is a bird on a tree. I asked if it was a bird and was told it was a bird ON A TREE. hahaha

Update:  Story from my CT (after she got over not getting the revered twig sculpture):
Long time ago... we believed that there was a god. (Dramatic pause) You know... heaven. And people would talk to bird to talk to god for luckness and hapness. So with this you have the good luck I think.
Me: What about the tree?
CT: Oh, that's because birds are usually live in the tree.

Pardon my random giggling while recording... the students really do a great spaghetti impression.

It is official...flights are booked!!!

It is official... flights are booked, leaving the RoK in November. The next adventure awaits.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am not renewing my contract in Korea.  My initial plan was to fly somewhere into Southeast Asia (most likely Cambodia), and trek around in a circle through Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand, and then start heading south, with the hopes of winding up in Australia and/or New Zealand, time and money permitting.

However, do an awesome Air Asia sale, that plan has been turned upside down quite literally.

First after searching around, through some of my favorite travel sites...I managed to get some cheap airfare.  Working backwards through my trip I have instead decided on a course that goes as follows:

Korea --> Australia

Australia --> New Zealand  (visiting my friend Rita)

New Zealand --> Australia

Australia --> Singapore (visiting my friend Todd)

Singapore --> Malaysia

Malaysia --> Thailand (to apply for my Indian visa)

Thailand --> Laos

Laos --> Vietnam (possibly joining some other folks)

Vietnam --> Cambodia

Cambodia --> Thailand

Thailand --> India (meeting my friends Jenna & Tristan)

India --> ???  (to be determined)

As you can see, short of the flights already booked, I have some free time in my schedule (and only a roughly plotted course for the latter part of my journey.)  With the Air Asia sale I was able to get the flights for pretty cheap, especially considering the area I will be covering.

I depart Korea on November 18th, and will be arriving in India at the end of January.  That is a lot of area to cover between those 2 flights, so I have thankfully given it a bit of wiggle room.  I may have to cut out some of Southeast Asia, to do at a future date, but here it is, the rough plan, the outline, my life for the next few months.

This is something I've always wanted to do, and I beyond thrilled to have this opportunity.  I hope you will share it with me.
